Welcome to Illawarra Primary School. Our school is located on beautiful grounds in the suburb of Blackmans Bay, about 15 minutes drive south of the centre of Hobart. We have just over 450 students and are continuing to grow.
Our five core values of Honesty and Integrity, Respect, Learning, Care and Understanding, and Safety, underpin our work to develop motivated, socially adept and well rounded students.
We emphasise the teaching of social skills and problem solving, and support all students to fully engage with school life. From Kindergarten to Grade 6 we also use an inquiry based approach to teaching and learning as this supports students to develop the skills they will need to be successful in the 21st Century.
